Christian Care Committee
Matthew 25 vs. 35-40 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers you did it to me.’ |
This verse shows that Jesus cared for people who he saw (through healing, giving food, listening to them, etc.) and then also the disciples ought to go and do the same. As a church we also find ways to show Christian Care to the people God puts into our lives.
Zion has a committee established called the Christian Care Committee and is designed to assist the church "in all matters of social action; for welfare work in the Congregation and at the district and synodical levels"
Basically, Christian Care Committee seeks to provide Christian Care and promote the church to care for each other as well. The joy of this group is that it has not specific instructions. It can be whatever we want it to be, and we can shape it to fit the needs of the church.
If you are interested in becoming a member of this committee or lending support to this committee in any way or if you know of someone in the Church or Community requiring assistance (meals prepared, transportation to medical appointments, etc), please email us at zionclarknj@gmail.com or fill out the form below.
