The Lutheran Confessions Drawn from God’s Word, the Lutheran Confessions are a true and binding exposition of Holy Scripture and serve as authoritative texts for all pastors, congregations and other rostered church workers of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). What are the Lutheran Confessions? The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod accepts the Scriptures as the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and the LCMS subscribes unconditionally to all the symbolical books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church as a true and unadulterated statement and exposition of the Word of God.
SELC-LCMS District
Today the SELC spans the eastern half of the continent, with congregations in the United States and Canada. The SELC focuses on mission outreach here in the US and abroad. It has no full-time officers; all pastoral officers of the District remain in the parish, where they continue to serve the Lord as ministers of Word and Sacrament to His people.
SELC LWML
Our SELC District LWML is divided into three zones: the Eastern Zone, the Central Zone and the Western Zone. The Eastern Zone includes SELC LWML societies in New Jersey, Connecticut, Eastern Pennsylvania and Virginia. The Central Zone societies are all located in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. The Western Zone societies are located in Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. Each Zone meets once or twice a year for Zone Rallies, and the District LWML meets biennially in Convention that rotates geographically among the three Zones. There are currently 21 societies in the District.
